Did You Know:
  • LDS Family Services are now offered free for members.“Family Services provides a range of resources for members experiencing social and emotional challenges. Currently, fees are charged for some of these services, including counseling and treatment groups. As needed, bishops have authorized the use of fast offerings to help members cover these fees. Effective July 5, 2023, Family Services will no longer bill for any services. Members will still need a bishop’s referral to meet with Family Services, and Family Services representatives will consult with leaders to determine the most appropriate source of help for each member.”
Upcoming Service Opportunity:
  • Our stake has the wonderful opportunity to open our Cullumber Building for Heat Relief May 27th-June 28th Monday- Friday 9am-4pm.  We will be working with the Town of Gilbert, Salvation Army and AZCEND. There will be multiple service needs for all ages.  Please be on the lookout for ways to help and get involved with this wonderful cause.   • Los Servicios para la Familia SUD ahora se ofrecen de forma gratuita para los miembros. “Los Servicios para la Familia brindan una variedad de recursos para los miembros que experimentan desafíos sociales y emocionales. Actualmente, se cobran tarifas por algunos de estos servicios, incluidos los grupos de asesoramiento y tratamiento. Según sea necesario, los obispos han autorizado el uso de ofrendas de ayuno para ayudar a los miembros a cubrir estas tarifas. A partir del 5 de julio de 2023, Family Services ya no facturará ningún servicio.   • Easter is this Sunday. We look forward to worshiping together as we celebrate our Savior Jesus Christ. We invite you to share the following VIDEO on your personal social media. We also have a digital invitation specific to your ward/times found HERE.  Theses videos and digitals invitations are also easy to send via text to friends and neighbors. We hope that we can fill our churches this Sunday as we celebrate Him.

  • That the Church has recently wrapped up the filming of the Book of Mormon Videos and they are available now. You can find them in the Gospel Library under videos, YouTube or Gospel Stream app.  “’The Book of Mormon Videos’ are designed to help individuals, family and friends as they learn from the Book of Mormon,” said Elder David P. Homer, chair of the Church’s Scriptures Media Committee. “For some, they will enhance their study of the scriptures. For others, they may be a first introduction to the sacred text. And for others still, they may provide comprehension and understanding where literacy and reading are a challenge.” You can watch a trailer representing the full series by clicking HERE.

The First Presidency’s 2024 Easter Message: 





    

  • “The sting of death is swallowed up in Christ” – This Easter season, we invite you to ponder the Savior’s atoning sacrifice and glorious Resurrection, which bless all of us. Through our Redeemer, Jesus Christ, we receive this message of hope: “In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world” (John 16:33). The Savior promises that as we keep His commandments and ordinances, we will have “peace in this world, and eternal life in the world to come” (Doctrine and Covenants 59:23). We testify that Jesus Christ lives! “He is risen” (Matthew 28:6). Because of Him, we can be guided and strengthened as we bear the burdens we face in mortality. Through our faith in the Savior’s atoning sacrifice, the bonds of sin cannot hold us and the trials that we experience in life will have no lasting power over us. “The sting of death is swallowed up in Christ” (Mosiah 16:8).   • El Desfile de Pascua está por llegar… A través de música, danza, teatro y un elenco de más de 400 personas actuando en un escenario enorme, “Desfile de Pascua de Mesa: Jesús el Cristo” representa los momentos poderosos y conmovedores de la vida de Jesucristo. Sea testigo de acontecimientos milagrosos e inspiradores que rodearon la vida de Jesús tal como se registra en el Nuevo Testamento, incluyendo: Su humilde nacimiento, Sus milagros de curación, Su caminar sobre el embravecido Mar de Galilea, Su resurrección de los muertos, Su crucifixión en la cruz y Su resurrección gloriosa. Este programa GRATUITO de 70 minutos se realizará del miércoles 20 de marzo al sábado 23 de marzo y del martes 26 de marzo al sábado 30 de marzo. Por medio de nuestro Redentor, Jesucristo, recibimos este mensaje de esperanza: “En el mundo tendréis aflicción. Pero confiad; yo he vencido al mundo” (Juan 16:33). El Salvador promete que, a medida que guardemos Sus mandamientos y ordenanzas, tendremos “paz en este mundo, y la vida eterna en el mundo venidero” (Doctrina y Convenios 59:23). ¡Testificamos que Jesucristo vive! “Ha resucitado” (Mateo 28:6). Gracias a Él, podemos ser guiados y fortalecidos mientras llevamos las cargas que afrontamos en la vida terrenal.   • That our stake has the wonderful opportunity to provide a birthday surprise to our brothers and sisters at American Orchards. The surprise can be anything from a card, poster for their door, flowers, balloons, chocolate, treats, blanket, slippers, etc.  Does not need to be fancy, expensive or elaborate. You are even able to go in and hand deliver to them and sing Happy Birthday if you would like.  This is a great activity to do with your family/kids/organization.  It brings them so much happiness to know that a stranger from the community cares about them. Did You Know:





    

  • Our goal is to have SOMEthing for EVERYone. As you look at the calendar of events below that are happening in January- it might overwhelm you. There is a lot going on, and that is how we like it.  However, we don’t ever want you to feel that you must attend or participate in everything.  We are in different stages of life with different interests.  If you like pickleball, we hope you will grab a friend and come play.  If you are an empty nester, we hope that you will invite a neighbor and attend our trivia night.  If you have a free hour on Saturday morning the 13th, we hope that you will join us for a service project.  Maybe one of your goals for the new year is to do more family history.  Join us on the first Thursday of every month and we can help you achieve that goal. And if nothing works for you this month, that is ok too.  Please know that we love our members and community and hope to find ways that we can gather to build relationships, make new friends, increase learning, have fun, reach out to those in need, and work each day to become more like Him. Happy New Year from your Stake Communication Committee.

  • Starting this year we will have a Prepare event for you at home. It will be placed on the last Monday of the month as a prepare focus opportunity for that month. This month it is a Preparedness Inventory.

  • You can submit names for the Temple Prayer Roll online.  From the churches website click on “resources” and scroll down to “Temple Prayer Roll.” From Member Tools app click on “more” then “temples” then “prayer roll.”  The names will stay on the prayer roll for two weeks.

Si tienes una hora libre el sábado 13 por la mañana, esperamos que te unas a nosotros en un proyecto de servicio. Quizás una de tus metas para el nuevo año sea hacer más historia familiar. Únase a nosotros el primer jueves de cada mes y podremos ayudarle a lograr ese objetivo. Y si nada te funciona este mes, también está bien. Tenga en cuenta que amamos a nuestros miembros y a nuestra comunidad y esperamos encontrar formas en las que podamos reunirnos para construir relaciones, hacer nuevos amigos, aumentar el aprendizaje, divertirnos, ayudar a los necesitados y trabajar cada día para parecernos más a Él. Feliz Año Nuevo de parte de su Comité de Comunicación de Estaca.

  • A partir de este año tendremos un evento Prepárate para ti en casa. Se colocará el último lunes del mes como una oportunidad de preparación y enfoque para ese mes. Este mes es un Inventario de Preparación.

  • That our Stake puts on a Community Family History event the first Thursday of each month.  This is a fantastic event to extend an invitation to your neighbors and friends to attend with you. There are so many people that are interested in family history but just don’t know where or how to get started.  This is the perfect way to get them introduced.  Please take a minute and think about who you could invite to attend.   • The Giving Machine will be in downtown Gilbert between Nov 17th and Dec 31st.  We invite you to make a memory and a lasting impact by visiting and purchasing an item that will go to someone in need.  There are choices of local and international non-profits.  We encourage you to invite your neighbors to attend with you. Take a picture and post about it on social media.  There are items from $5-$200 that can be purchased. Such a great, easy way to bless the lives of others this Christmas season.   • That you can get request a digital copy of your Patriarchal Blessing right from your phone or computer. Go to www.churchofjesuschrist.org and sign into your account.  If on the computer hit the “tools” button and at the bottom you will see Patriarchal Blessing. If on your phone, after you log in, click on the three little lines in the top left corner to find the “tools” button. After your tools open you will be Patriarchal Blessing. From there you can then hit request blessing.  Fun fact, you can also request the blessings of deceased direct-line blessings. It only takes a couple days- then when you click on “Patriarchal Blessings,” the pdf of your blessing will always be there.

  • To all that supported, helped, donated to the huge success of our community 9/11 Day of Service projects. What a wonderful opportunity to rub shoulders with those of other faiths and to do good in the community. We had over 400 people participate. The alleys got cleared out, over 500 comfort kits for cancer patients assembled and over 200 cards of elderly in our community. Not to mention so many shoes donated for Clothes Cabin and snacks for kids in need at our local schools. 
    •

  • The easiest way to find the service opportunities happenings is on the website under the Serve dropdown menu at the top (Service Events).  We currently have opportunities to help with some preparation for the Nativity (easy stuff like sitting and stringing ribbon on an ornament, and putting stickers on a bag), provide baked goods for Wildhorse Ranch and Rescue, and Toy Drive for Sharing Down Syndrome just to name a few.  Please be sure to check it out and sign up if you can.

Qué maravillosa oportunidad de codearnos con personas de otras religiones y hacer el bien en la comunidad. Participamos más de 400 personas. Se limpiaron los callejones, se reunieron más de 500 kits de confort para pacientes con cáncer y se entregaron más de 200 tarjetas de ancianos de nuestra comunidad. Sin mencionar tantos zapatos donados para Clothes Cabin y refrigerios para niños necesitados en nuestras escuelas locales..

  • September 11 National Day of Service and Remembrance is a federally-recognized National Day of Service that happens in the United States on the anniversary of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks. The purpose is to transform a day of tragedy into a day of doing good. Our stake has had the privilege of planning a community service event with the Stapley Stake, Gilbert Presbyterian Church,  Evident Life Church, and Living Word Church. We invite all to participate in some way and invite your neighbors to serve with you. See Service Events.

Beginning Tuesday, August 15th (5-6pm):  Youth Music and Arts Festival. Youth worldwide are invited to view this virtual global music and arts celebration based on the 2023 Youth Theme featuring youth around the world. See this event on  Activity Events.

A partir del martes 15 de agosto (5-6 p. m.): Festival de Música y Artes para Jóvenes. Se invita a los jóvenes de todo el mundo a ver esta celebración mundial virtual de música y artes basada en el Tema de la Juventud 2023 que presenta a jóvenes de todo el mundo.
