“The Redeemer: Easter Celebration”

A recorded Easter broadcast from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints premieres online Sunday, March 26, in 32 languages. “The Redeemer: An Easter Celebration,” tells the story of the Savior’s life through art, music, and scripture.

The hour-long Easter program, a year in the making, is the third Christ-centered production from the Church’s European areas.

“Commonly called the ‘cradle of Christian civilization,’ Europe enjoys a rich tradition of religious-themed artwork,” said Brian Cordray, an area manager in the Church’s Publishing Services Department.

“As we put this program together, the hope was to show how European artists from all ages have helped people draw closer to Christ through their inspired work. Some of the selected paintings may be more familiar than others, but all testify of the Lord’s eternal ministry.”
