  “I am soon approaching my 100th birthday. One of the places where the Savior used the number 100 in the scriptures was the parable of the lost sheep. Though 99 of his flock were safely by his side, the shepherd went in search of the 1 who was lost. At age 99, I have no need of physical gifts. But one spiritual offering that would brighten my life is for each of us to reach out to “the one” in our lives who may be feeling lost or alone. Over the coming months I invite you to consider prayerfully: who do you know who may be discouraged? Who might you need to reconcile with or ask for forgiveness? Has one name been on your mind lately, though you haven’t quite known why? As you bring these questions to the Lord, He will inspire you to know how you can reach out and lift one who needs help. What a beautiful example the Savior has shown us – that through each of us ministering to just one within our reach, we can spread the love of Jesus Christ throughout the world.”  #99plus1
  
  We encourage you to take the invitation from President Nelson to minister to the one.  We invite you to share your experiences, or maybe a past experience you have had on our stake fb group (found HERE) and use the hashtag #99plus1.  Let’s do our part to flood social media with goodness and stories that will uplift and inspire others.  

Thank You: 

• We send a GIANT heartfelt thank you to all that participated in the heat relief these past 5 weeks.  From primary children/youth groups making posters and snacks, daily volunteers, lunches provided, laundry washed and returned, homemade cinnamon rolls delivered, hygiene items dropped off, items donated- the list goes on and on. Our new friends that were able to find relief, love, and comfort at the Cullumber Building -THANK YOU for the kind hospitality.  For those of us that were able to interact with them, our lives have been changed. To quote one of our volunteers, “I had the most distinct feeling while at heat relief that if Jesus Christ was in Gilbert, Arizona, today- this is where He would be.” I couldn’t agree more. Thank you again for your Christ-like love.

  “Pronto me acerco a mi cumpleaños número 100. Uno de los lugares donde el Salvador usó el número 100 en las Escrituras fue la parábola de la oveja perdida. Aunque 99 de su rebaño estaban a salvo a su lado, el pastor fue en busca de la 100. que se perdió. A los 99 años, no necesito dones físicos, pero una ofrenda espiritual que alegraría mi vida es que cada uno de nosotros se acerque a “aquel” en nuestras vidas que pueda sentirse perdido o solo. En los próximos meses te invito a considerar en oración: ¿a quién conoces que pueda estar desanimado? ¿Con quién podrías necesitar reconciliarte o pedir perdón? ¿Ha estado pensando en algún nombre últimamente, aunque no sabes muy bien por qué? Si le presentas estas preguntas al Señor, Él te inspirará a saber cómo puedes extender la mano y ayudar a quien necesita ayuda. Qué hermoso ejemplo nos ha mostrado el Salvador: que al ministrar cada uno de nosotros a solo uno que está a nuestro alcance, podemos podemos difundir el amor de Jesucristo por todo el mundo”.  #99plus1
  
  Le animamos a aceptar la invitación del presidente Nelson para ministrarle.  Lo invitamos a compartir sus experiencias, o tal vez una experiencia pasada que haya tenido en nuestro grupo de Facebook (que se encuentra AQUÍ y usar el hashtag #99plus1.  Hagamos nuestra parte para inundar las redes sociales con bondad e historias que animarán e inspirarán a otros.

• Enviamos un GIGANTE agradecimiento de corazón a todos los que participaron en el alivio del calor durante las últimas 5 semanas. Desde grupos de niños y jóvenes de primaria que hacen carteles y refrigerios, voluntarios diarios, almuerzos proporcionados, ropa lavada y devuelta, rollos de canela caseros entregados, artículos de higiene entregados, artículos donados, la lista sigue y sigue. Nuestros nuevos amigos que pudieron encontrar alivio, amor y consuelo en el edificio Cullumber: GRACIAS por la amable hospitalidad. Para aquellos de nosotros que pudimos interactuar con ellos, nuestras vidas han cambiado. Para citar a uno de nuestros voluntarios: “Mientras estaba en el alivio del calor tuve la sensación más clara de que si Jesucristo estuviera hoy en Gilbert, Arizona, aquí es donde estaría”. No podría estar mas de acuerdo. Gracias nuevamente por su amor cristiano.
