City of Gilbert Heat Relief Program – Programa de alivio del calor de la ciudad de Gilbert

I-HELP (Interfaith Homeless Emergency Lodging Program) provides homeless people a safe place to sleep and a hot meal every night of the week. Of the 25 I-HELP participants, some have jobs during the day and some do not.  For those without employment, the men and women need a place during the day from 9 am to 4 pm to escape the summer heat.

From the last week of May through the month of June, Monday through Friday, we have the opportunity to partner with the City of Gilbert to provide a safe space for heat respite to these I-HELP participants.

Justserve and the Gilbert Stake of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latterday Saints are looking for volunteers to help with this wonderful service.  This will take place at the Cullumber church building at 222 E. Cullumber Ave. Gilbert, AZ 85234.

We need help with the following:

  • Lunches daily for 15 people
  • Volunteers daily for AM and PM shifts
  • Laundry (assignment is from Monday to Friday) during the evenings
  • Ice

I-HELP (Programa Interreligioso de Alojamiento de Emergencia para Personas sin Hogar) ofrece a las personas sin hogar un lugar seguro para dormir y una comida caliente todas las noches de la semana. De los 25 participantes de I-HELP, algunos tienen trabajos durante el día y otros no. Para quienes no tienen empleo, hombres y mujeres necesitan un lugar durante el día, de 9 a 16 horas, para escapar del calor del verano.

Desde la última semana de mayo hasta el mes de junio, de lunes a viernes, tenemos la oportunidad de asociarnos con la ciudad de Gilbert para brindar un espacio seguro para aliviar el calor a estos participantes de I-HELP.

Justserve y la Estaca Gilbert de la Iglesia de Jesucristo de los Santos de los Últimos Días están buscando voluntarios para ayudar con este maravilloso servicio. Esto tendrá lugar en el edificio de la iglesia Cullumber en 222 E. Cullumber Ave. Gilbert, AZ 85234.

Necesitamos ayuda con lo siguiente:

  • Almuerzos diarios para 15 personas Voluntarios diariamente para los turnos de mañana y tarde.
  • Lavandería (la tarea es de lunes a viernes) durante las noches.
  • Hielo
  • Revise los espacios disponibles a continuación
