ASA Now Trunk-or-Treat Volunteer Opportunity- Oportunidad de Voluntariado

Many children coming through the foster care system have special physical, mental health and developmental needs. Many of these children have suffered varying degrees of trauma, neglect and abuse which often manifests as challenging and extreme behaviors requiring above-average attention.

Caring for children impacted by foster care on a daily basis can be very stressful and difficult for foster and foster adoptive parents. This ultimately takes a toll on the family as a whole. ASA Now provides a much needed break for exhausted foster and adoptive parents while still meeting the special needs of the children. This intervention provides parents with an opportunity to recharge, prevent burn-out, stabilize the whole family, and ultimately result in fewer foster and adoptive disruptions.

ASA Now is in need of caring volunteers to help with our next Family social. Serve snacks and refreshments, help run games and crafts, and help welcome and register attendees.

The event is on Friday, October 20, 2023 from 5:30pm to 7:30pm but we ask that all volunteers arrive by 4:45pm pm to receive instructions before the children start arriving.

Mature teens who wish volunteer or who would like to receive volunteer credit hours are welcome to attend but we ask that supervising adults attend.

Muchos niños que pasan por el sistema de cuidado de crianza tienen necesidades especiales de desarrollo y salud física y mental. Muchos de estos niños han sufrido diversos grados de trauma, abandono y abuso que a menudo se manifiestan como comportamientos desafiantes y extremos que requieren una atención superior a la media.

El cuidado diario de niños afectados por el cuidado de crianza puede ser muy estresante y difícil para los padres de crianza y adoptivos. ASA Now proporciona un descanso muy necesario para los padres adoptivos y de crianza agotados y, al mismo tiempo, satisface las necesidades especiales de los niños. Esta intervención brinda a los padres la oportunidad de recargar energías, prevenir el agotamiento, estabilizar a toda la familia y, en última instancia, generar menos interrupciones en la crianza y la adopción.

ASA Now necesita voluntarios atentos para ayudar con nuestra próxima reunión social familiar. Sirva refrigerios y refrescos, ayude a organizar juegos y manualidades, y ayude a dar la bienvenida y registrar a los asistentes.

El evento será el viernes 20 de octubre de 2023 de 5:30 p. m. a 7:30 p. m. pero solicitamos que todos los voluntarios lleguen antes de las 4:45 p. m. para recibir instrucciones antes de que los niños comiencen a llegar.

Los adolescentes maduros que deseen ser voluntarios o que deseen recibir horas de crédito de voluntariado pueden asistir, pero solicitamos que asistan adultos supervisores.
